So far I am very happy with my new (refurbished) computer. I received it about 4-5 days after ordering it and it was packed very securely with a lot of bubble wrap, so no issues as far as shipping. In terms of value for your dollar, I cannot recommend this machine highly enough. I will cover some issues I had with it, but if you're a Windows user than you should be accustom to these things by now. Though it may sound negative at times, rest assure that I am very happy with this computer and can safely recommend Craving Savings as a reputable third party seller.
The main issue I had is that the PC was advertised to have 4GB of RAM installed, but it shipped with only 1GB. I was able to get in touch with customer service very easily, and they expressed genuine concern with the mishap and immediately shipped out the missing 3GB RAM. If you order a PC from here or anywhere really, be sure to check that it is up to spec with it's advertised components within the time frame of the warranty.
The computer itself is a great value overall. Windows 7 runs quickly and without issue. My only issue with performance is that the on board video card isn't suitable for use with an HDTV, but that problem can easily be solved for about $40. (I purchased an HIS Radeon HD 5450 Silence 1 GB (64bit) Video Card and it works great with this PC hooked up via HDMI to my HDTV).
I haven't loaded any graphics intensive video games since I am primarily a console gamer, but the specs on this machine (plus my new video card) should be strong enough to handle most modern games. My primary use for this PC is to access streaming video content like Hulu, Youtube and Amazon VOD since those services are not as prevalent on consoles as Netflix is. So far it's meeting or exceeding my expectations. Hopefully I can ditch cable soon.
My other uses for this PC are music recording (yet to try since I haven't decided which program to use), home media center (music, videos, pictures etc) and PC gaming via Steam. I'll update this review after getting around to trying these out.
Now for quick PROS and CONS list:
PROS:
- Fast, reliable OS (Windows 7)
- No bloatware installed
- Comes with everything you need for standard use (web browsing, office automation via openoffice.org, etc)
- Mouse, Keyboard and power cable included
- The case and interior components are clean and look good as new
CONS:
- OS is pre service pack 1, so you will have a lot of updates to install after booting up
- Video card isn't suitable for high-end gaming
- Inexplicably ships with an XP recovery disc instead of Windows 7
TIPS:
- Remove the pre-installed antivirus and install Microsoft Security Essentials. It's also free and works much better.
- Search amazon for a "low profile video card" if you want to use this for gaming. You can get a 1GB card w/ HDMI for around $40
- Disable the "guest" and "administrator" accounts. These are prime targets for hackers
- Set a password for your user account for extra security

I received my computer 3 days after ordering it..This computer is OFF THE CHART fast..& STABLE..I spent 15 hrs loading my software & apps manually yesterday, and got to become VERY intimate with this machines capabilities..I downloaded XP Mode/Vertual & it installed quickly..and ran just fine..I loaded about 17 gigs of content, and i NEVER had any glitches that were major..I then ran 2 very RAM hungry Adobe software apps at the SAME TIME..and this machine blew right through them..no slow downs at all..With up to 8 gigs of RAM capable..I ended my day with a complete defrag,to put stuff back in order, and this thing got EVEN FASTER!..This was a very high end machine & sold for over $1,500 bucks when new..Don't hesitate to purchase this incredible computer..You'll be playing with the BIG boys now...

This computer is great value. Mine cost $250 I note the one showing available as I type this review is $299. My hard drive arrived as 700Gig much bigger than the 400G advertised. No problem.
The RAM is 4Gig, one reason I chose this more expensive refurbished unit over most others is the greater Ram. Also this one comes preloaded with Windows 7 many other refurbished do not.
I have 6 USB ports on the back, 2 on the front. My U Verse Internet cable pluged straight in and worked immediately. There is a speaker plug and a couple more that I recognize.
My 18 year old was all over me to buy something new, I read him the spec on this unit knowing what I use it for he could not think of a reason not to get it and save at least $500.
I surf, I play a little Civilization, write a few letters, spreadsheets, Facebook, Blog and download, play and transfer music into USB drives or onto CD-R's to play in the car. It does it all with ease, I have not even strained it.
I have a PC that does everything I need for the price of my last monitor. Love it.
